New Year's is upon us and it is by far my favorite holiday!
It's such a great opportunity to seek God for true heart change. I have become convinced from Scripture and experience that: Any resolution that is based on a biblical command can be kept all year by the power of the Holy Spirit.
What will you seek God to change in you this year?
This week I'll be laying out a biblical vision for true Spirit-empowered change from II Corinthians 3:16-18:
"But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit."
Join us as we solidify and focus our discipleship groups to strive together for change in 2012!
Here's how you can prep for Tuesday:
- Pray over and meditate on II Corinthians 3:16-18 and ask your Father where he would like to give you true heart change in 2012. We call this a 'heart change goal' and it looks like this:
"By the end of 2012 I want God to make me the kind of person who naturally____________ instead of the kind of person who naturally_____________."
Ask your Father how he would have you fill in those blanks for 2012.
- Now look again at II Corinthians 3:16-18 and come up with 4 specific
ways that this passage will inform how you strive after this change in
2012.
Pray that the Spirit moves among us powerfully in this New Year together!
